Freedom Summer 1964 60th Anniversary Project 

Oxford - America to the Ballot Box  is honored to be working with the University of MIssissippi Voter Engaement Roundtable  and Andrew Goodman Foundation UM Chapter , annd other campus and community groups, on a March 2024 Votiing Summit that will culminate with a bus trip from Oxford to Philadelphia, MS, site of the murders of Civil Rights Activists James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and  Michael “Mickey” Schwerner.

The Center for Community Engagement proudly presents the 2024 Voting Summit.

This year's Voting Summit seeks to educate, inspire, and inform the LOU community on the 60th anniversary of Mississippi Freedom Summer and lessons learned today. Featuring an award-winning documentary screening, panel discussion, leadership luncheon, trivia night, and day trip to historic Philadelphia, MS, the 2024 Voting Summit welcomes all LOU community members to join us in commemorating the legacy of Freedom Summer. 
 

All events are open to all LOU community members! Some events require reservations, so be sure to secure your spot in advance through this website.
